Dovetail and mortising bits that cut the joint itself. Dovetail bits are sized by cutting diameter and included angle and have to match the jig and template you are working with; mortising and hinge-mortising bits are straight-sided with a bottom cut, for flat-bottomed recesses. Compression mortise bits combine up and down shear so both faces of a veneered or laminated panel come out clean.

The range includes Diablo mortising and hinge mortising bits and Freud dovetail bits.

Dovetail bits come in 3/8 and 3/4 in. diameters.
