Double-Sided Tape

Double-sided tapes: 3M Scotch-Mount mounting tape and strips in 1/2 and 1 in. widths, double-sided molding tape in 60 and 174 in. rolls, and indoor mounting tape. Foam-core and film tapes solve different problems — a foam tape carries more weight, absorbs some movement and bridges a textured or slightly uneven surface, while a thin film tape holds less but keeps the part tight to the wall with no visible line. Molding tape is an acrylic foam tape rated for outdoor and automotive exposure, and it is not the same product as indoor mounting tape even where the width matches. All of these want a clean, dry, room-temperature surface wiped with alcohol; a cold surface or a fresh paint film is where the bond fails.
