Solid Joint Pliers

Milwaukee forged alloy steel pliers: 6 in. diagonal cutting pliers and 12 in. straight jaw pliers with a reaming and punching feature. Diagonal cutters are made to cut wire flush and should not be used to grip or twist, which is the fastest way to open the jaws permanently. Straight jaw pliers give a parallel grip and the leverage that a 12 in. handle provides, which is what you want on a nut or a conduit locknut that a smaller plier rounds off. Forged alloy steel holds the jaw geometry under load where a cast tool spreads; check that the cutting edges still meet cleanly along their whole length, because that is where a worn pair shows first.
