Shovels and snow tools: Home Plus steel round-point digging and square transfer shovels on wood handles, and Suncast and Yeoman poly and aluminum snow shovels, including telescoping and ergonomic handles. Round point and square point are two different tools — a round point digs and cuts sod, a square transfer shovel moves loose material off a hard surface and is nearly useless in the ground. On snow tools, poly is lighter and will not mark a deck or a finished drive, aluminum and steel cut packed snow and ice that poly rides over. A bent or ergonomic handle takes strain off the back on a long push but gives up leverage when you have to lift and throw.
