Power Strips/Surge Protectors

Power strips, surge protectors and wall taps in 3, 4, 6 and 7 outlet configurations with cords from 2 to 6 ft. A power strip only splits the outlet; a surge protector adds clamping, and the joule rating — 1080 J and 1200 J here — is how much energy it can absorb before it quietly stops protecting anything. Wall taps put the outlets right at the receptacle with no cord, which suits a counter or a nightstand but not a shop. Models with USB ports charge phones and tablets without another adapter taking up an outlet.
