Penetrating oils, lubricants and anti-seize: Blaster PB penetrating oil, silicone and chain and cable lubricants, Fluid Film, 3-IN-ONE silicone garage door lubricant, and AGS Thread-Magic anti-seize. These are four different jobs. A penetrating oil creeps into a rusted thread and is a release agent, not a lubricant — it should be cleaned off and followed with a proper lubricant. Silicone leaves a dry non-staining film and is what to use on rubber, weatherstrip and garage door rollers where oil would attract grit and swell the rubber. Chain and cable lubricant is formulated to stay put under fling and load. Anti-seize goes on the threads of a fastener you expect to remove later, especially where dissimilar metals meet.
