Electrical Tape

3M electrical tapes: Scotch vinyl electrical tape in 3/4 in. width in black, blue, green and red, in 66 ft and shorter rolls, plus Temflex rubber splicing tape and cotton friction tape. Vinyl tape is the general-purpose insulating and identification wrap and is specified by temperature rating and thickness, not by color — the colors are for phase and circuit identification and carry the same insulating rating. Rubber splicing tape is a different product: it has no adhesive, is stretched and self-amalgamates into a solid moisture-tight mass, and is what goes under vinyl on a splice that will see water. Friction tape is a cotton cloth tape used for abrasion protection over a completed splice rather than as insulation on its own.
