Cable Staples

Gardner Bender insulated cable and coaxial staples in 1/4, 7/16, 1/2 and 3/4 in. widths, plastic and metal, sold in 15 to 100 packs. Staple width has to suit the cable it straddles — 1/2 in. over 14/2 NM, 1/4 in. coaxial over RG6 — because a staple driven too tight crushes the jacket and a loose one does not hold the run. The insulated plastic saddle is the part that keeps the metal legs off the conductor. Metal staples go where the run needs more holding force than plastic will give.
