Steel bar and rod stock: SteelWorks low carbon threaded rod in 1/4 through 3/8 in. in 36 in. and 72 in. lengths, unthreaded round rod, and weldable rebar in 1/2 in., plus shelf and rod brackets. Threaded rod is bought by diameter and thread pitch and cut to length on site, which makes it the general answer for hangers, U-bolts and any custom fastener run. Low carbon steel welds and bends readily and rusts readily — it is mill finish, so anything going outdoors or into damp needs paint or plating. Rebar sold as weldable is a different grade from ordinary reinforcing bar; standard rebar is not specified for welding, so check that before you tack it into a frame.
