Incandescent Bulbs

Incandescent and halogen lamps for the fixtures and equipment that still take them: appliance and utility bulbs, S11 and S14 globes, T5 wedge-base landscape and low-voltage lamps, and T3 and T4 tubular halogen. Base type has to match first — E26 medium, E17 intermediate, bayonet and wedge are not interchangeable whatever the wattage says. Then match wattage to the fixture's rating rather than to the brightness you want, since overlamping is how sockets and shades get scorched. Tubular halogen lamps run hot, and skin oil from bare fingers will shorten one, so handle them with a cloth.
