Heaters

Supplemental electric heat, mostly Cadet convection baseboard heaters from about 1700 to 5120 BTU covering 100 to 250 sq ft. Sizing is done on the room, and the rule that gets used at the counter is roughly 10 W per square foot for a reasonably insulated space, more for a room over a garage, a slab, or with a lot of glass. Voltage is the part to confirm before ordering — 120 V and 240 V baseboard are not interchangeable and a 240 V unit on 120 V puts out a quarter of its rating. Baseboard heaters need clearance from drapes and furniture, and most take a line-voltage wall thermostat rather than the low-voltage stat on the furnace.
