What's included: one complete 4-shelf unit — posts and rivet beams for four levels. Particle board decking is NOT included and is sold separately (the manufacturer photo shows the unit decked).
Rivet-Rak Bulkmaster is boltless rivet shelving: a freestanding steel shelving unit whose beams lock into the corner posts with rivets instead of nuts, bolts or clips. It assembles in minutes with a rubber mallet and no hardware. Each unit here is a complete 4-shelf starter unit, 84" tall.
Choosing a size
Width (48", 60", 72" or 96") is the shelf face. It is the single biggest driver of capacity — a wider beam carries less, so a 48"-wide unit is rated 773 lb per shelf while a 96"-wide unit is rated 386 lb per shelf. Pick the narrowest width that fits your load.
Depth (18", 24", 36" or 48") is front-to-back. Depth does not change the shelf rating on this unit — only width and the beam-tie option do.
Standard vs. Beam Tie
Every size is offered in two versions. The Beam Tie version (SKU suffix "T") adds a tie between the beams and doubles the rated capacity per shelf — 1,546 lb instead of 773 lb on a 48" unit, 772 lb instead of 386 lb on a 96" unit. If you are storing dense or concentrated loads, take the Beam Tie version; the capacity for each is stated in the option list above.
Construction and planning
Double rivet beams top and bottom, single rivet beams on intermediate levels for maximum vertical clearance. Shelves adjust on 1-1/2" centres. No diagonal brace is required, so the unit is open on all four sides and can be loaded and picked from either face. Finish is a grey baked-on enamel.
Planning note: the actual outside dimension of each unit is 1/2" greater than its nominal shelf size, and you should allow 1/4" of clearance between adjoining units when laying out a row.
Particle board is sold separately — these units ship without decking. FOB shipping point; steel surcharges may apply.
