Tubing is made-to-length bagging: cut what the part needs and seal one or both ends, which beats stocking a dozen bag sizes for long, odd or variable parts. Layflat width is half the circumference of the open tube, so measure the part around and halve it — a part 6 in. around needs about 3 in. layflat. Roll footage falls as the gauge rises at a given width, so compare on cost per foot rather than per roll. Wide 40 to 60 in. tubing is used for covering furniture, machinery and pallet loads rather than for bagging individual parts.
