Uline vs Supply Tie prices, and where Grainger fits

Most comparisons stop at "who's cheaper." What a business actually pays depends on three things: the shelf price for the exact item, how freight is charged, and whether you need an account to see your price. This post puts real, dated numbers on the first one and sets out the published facts on the other two.

Prices change. Uline prices below were read from uline.com product pages on September 30, 2026, without signing in. Supply Tie prices were checked on October 2, 2026. Items are matched by published spec (size, gauge or thickness, and pack count) and are equivalents, not the same product. Supply Tie is not affiliated with Uline or Grainger.

Shelf prices on matched items

Each row is the same unit on both sides: per roll, per coil or per carton of the same count. "Uline best" is the lowest quantity-break price Uline lists. The table lists the matched items where Supply Tie's price was lower when we checked; it is not every size either company sells.

Item Uline # Uline (1 / best) Supply Tie
Hand stretch film 12" × 2,000', 60 ga S-3210 $22 / $19 (24+ rolls) $11.44 per roll
Hand stretch film 18" × 1,500', 70 ga S-2187 $21 any qty $14.52 per roll
Hand stretch film 18" × 1,500', 80 ga S-2190 $22 any qty $16.24 per roll
Machine film, blown, 20" × 6,000', 80 ga S-6143 $108 (6) / $103 (12+) $67.32 per roll, by the pallet (40 rolls)
Carton sealing tape 48 mm × 100 m, 2 mil S-423 $3.75 (18) / $2.00 (36+) $1.29 per roll, case of 36
Reclosable bag 2" × 3", 2 mil, 1,000 S-1291 $15 any qty $6.57 per carton
Reclosable bag 4" × 6", 4 mil, 1,000 S-1302 $46 any qty $28.80 per carton
Flat poly bag 6" × 16", 2 mil, 1,000 S-1436 $50 / $43 (20+) $39.98 per carton
Poly strapping 1/2", 7,200' coil (close match: ours .026", Uline .024") S-821 $79 any qty $57.13 per coil, minimum 24

What the table shows

  • Stretch film, tape, strapping, small reclosable bags and 6" × 16" flat bags: on these matched items, Supply Tie's shelf price was lower than Uline's single-unit price and its best quantity-break price.
  • Quantity breaks matter. Uline's price drops at set quantities. Supply Tie lists one price per unit and quotes larger quantities. If you buy 20 or more cartons of a bag, ask us to quote the quantity.

Freight: the price you see isn't the price you pay

  • Uline ships from its location nearest to you and invoices freight on top of the shelf price, per its published shipping and handling policy.
  • Grainger sets freight through its own published shipping policy, which can depend on your account. Check its current terms.
  • Supply Tie ships from each brand's own location, so freight is set per brand, per order. Each brand has its own free-freight point, shown in the cart as you shop, and pallet items such as machine film ship by freight with the rate quoted to your ZIP. See free-freight minimums by brand.

Seeing your price: catalog and login

  • Uline shows shelf prices and quantity breaks on its public product pages. The prices above were read without signing in.
  • Grainger publishes list pricing and offers account-based pricing. We didn't compare Grainger prices for this post: account pricing varies by customer, and we didn't collect Grainger prices.
  • Supply Tie shows prices on every product page without a login. Approved business accounts can have agreed pricing, Net 30 terms and tax exemption on file. See account setup.

The fastest way to know what you'd pay

A table like this covers a few items. Your own list is what matters. Send us what you buy from Uline, Grainger or McMaster and we will price it line by line, usually within 1 business day. If you're already buying a line well, we'll tell you that too.
